A lot of people have been needing help to play Exodus on Windows 8 so I hope this helps you out!


For starters there will be two different methods using third party programs to get the game working. These include either DxWnd or Razer Game Booster.

Please follow these steps in order to get the best result!

Step 1

Find the Exodus Client on your computer. (Should be located in your v83 Maplestory folder) Right click the Exodus Client and select 'Properties'.

Step 2

Click on the 'Compatibility' tab which should be located at the top of the window. Next change your 'Compatibility mode' to 'Windows XP (Service Pack 3)'. To make things easier click on the box saying 'Run this program as an administrator', then press 'OK'.


Now that that is done you need to download either DxWnd or Razer Game Booster and install it. Then just follow the steps below!

Method one DxWnd:


1. To start off download DxWnd, using this link http://sourceforge.net/projects/dxwnd/



2. Use a program that can open RAR files such as WinRAR to extract the files to a folder of your choice.



3. Then open dxwnd.exe, a small box should open, right click it and press 'Add'.



4. Another window should pop up saying 'Path and 'Launch'. Browse for your Exodus client and at the bottom left of the window set your resolution, where it says 'W' and 'H'. ('W' is Width and 'H' is Height)



5. Click the 'DirectX' tab on the top panel and choose 'DirectX8', which should be found under 'DirectX Version Hook'. Then simply click 'OK'.



6. Close Skype (make sure it's closed in the background as well) and launch DxWnd

NOTE: Skype isn't the only program that causes the parameter error! Programs like Chrome (Usually only if you're downloading something), Communication Service, Cloud Programs (Dropbox, Symform, Skydrive), and almost anything that uses the internet may cause the problem.


Method two Razer Game Booster:


1. Download Razer Game Booster from http://www.razerzone.com/gamebooster Click on the link for your Computers OS


2. When the download has finished follow the setup procedures. Register and verify your email so you can use the program and then sign in on the program.


3. When the program opens look for the (+) on the left side and click it.


4. Click on 'Add Games', and browse for the Exodus Client.


5. Close skype and run the client in Razer Game Booster.

NOTE: Skype isn't the only program that causes the parameter error! Programs like Chrome (Usually only if you're downloading something), Communication Service, Cloud Programs (Dropbox, Symform, Skydrive), and almost anything that uses the internet may cause the problem.
